Groundbreaking Ceremony for Schenectady’s Central Park Pool Enhancement Project Led by Saratoga Associates

Schenectady, NY – On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, the city of Schenectady held a groundbreaking ceremony at Central Park Pool to celebrate the start of a transformative project that will enhance the community’s recreational opportunities. The project is being led by Saratoga Associates Landscape Architects, Architects, Engineers, and Planners, P.C., who will serve as project managers and lead designers.

The ceremony was attended by Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy, city officials, and the Saratoga Associates team, including project manager Emily Gardner, RLA, designer Jared Malinoski, and Ryan Dussault. They were all excited to break ground on this much-anticipated project.

The Schenectady Central Park Pool project will bring numerous improvements to the existing facility, including the construction of a new pool house, expanded parking, and improved accessibility for people with disabilities. The pool itself will also receive several upgrades, such as new filtration systems, lighting, and a splash pad area for young children.

“It’s healthy, outdoor activities that add value to the city as a whole, and our neighborhoods that are adjacent to the parks that have done these upgrades.”

-Mayor Gary McCarthy

Saratoga Associates is honored to be part of this project and are excited to help bring the city’s vision to life. We’ve worked closely with the community to develop a design that meets their needs while also being functional, beautiful, and sustainable.

The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Schenectady and its residents. The city is committed to providing its residents with high-quality recreational facilities, and this project is a testament to that commitment. With the help of Saratoga Associates, Schenectady is poised to create a state-of-the-art pool facility that will serve as a gathering place for the community for many years to come.
