Central Park Pool
Saratoga Associates led a team retained by the City to assess the existing swim area within Central Park. The swim area within Iroquois Lake served as a destination for waterfowl, contributing to issues with code compliance, maintenance, and safety.
Saratoga Associates led the design and development of a new facility to be constructed in the location of the former tennis stadium, integrating input from a group of stakeholders.
The new swimming pool design incorporates lap lanes, a zero-entry area, wading area, resistance walk, and jet features surrounded by patio space and lawn area. The pool area also includes a new equipment and storage building and a seasonal bathhouse with restrooms, and changing areas.
In addition to the swimming area, the project provides a new splash pad, seating and picnic space, bicycle racks, a new parking lot, and sidewalks that will be part of overall connectivity improvements within the park. New signage and lighting help to integrate the new pool area into the park while also enhancing visitor safety and wayfinding.
