Hudson Valley Community College enlisted Saratoga Associates to redevelop parking lots on its Troy campus.
The project involved the creation of design development and construction documents for three campus parking lots – I-lot, C-Lot, and B1-Lot, totaling 770 spaces and over 6.5 acres.
C lot was resurfaced and reorganized, circulation was improved at B1-Lot, and I-Lot was completely redeveloped to include porous asphalt and landscape planting.
The porous pavement minimizes surface runoff, capturing the stormwater from the traditionally paved half of the lot before it reaches the adjacent wetland area. The pavement is complemented by surface and subsurface stormwater management systems, granite curbing, landscape plantings, and traffic signage.
A stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) was prepared for construction and Saratoga Associates was involved through the construction process.
