Chenango Beach Area improvements
Saratoga Associates was retained by NYS Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation to prepare a design for the beach area at Chenango Valley State Park. The concept addressed the design and location of swimming and water play amenities that meet the current recreational expectations of park patrons. The design is sensitive to the natural setting and incorporates environmentally sustainable improvements to prevent degradation of water quality.
Primary project elements include a renovated beach area that improves visual connectivity and integrates pedestrian paths between the lake, diving and slide area, new splash pad, new boat rental building, ADA accessible docks, and other recreational areas.
Saratoga Associates worked closely with the regional park administration to identify challenges related to aging infrastructure and contemporary user trends. Project costs were evaluated and a phased plan for logistical implementation was developed. As lead consultant, Saratoga Associates was responsible for complete professional design services through construction administration for architectural and site improvement projects.
