Aquinas Hall Addition + Renovation

The Aquinas Hall renovation and the science, math and technology building were the first projects constructed following a Facilities Master Plan, previously prepared by Saratoga Associates.

Mount St. Mary College is a 2,700 student private liberal arts college in Newburgh, NY. To accommodate changing contemporary academic needs, Saratoga Associates developed a detailed program for renovations of Aquinas Hall, the College’s main academic building, and a new science, math and technology building. Programming included science teaching and research labs, computer labs, nursing labs, and administrative offices.

Services also included design through construction documentation for renovation of 10,000 square feet of the existing building.

Saratoga Associates designed site improvements associated with the expansion including enhanced pedestrian access with a new plaza and gathering areas, parking and pedestrian lighting, landscaping amenities and additional expansion. Challenging elements successfully addressed include site selection, steep slopes, and awkward vehicular and pedestrian access.  The project now serves as the academic anchor at the south end of the campus.
