SLU Facilities Master Plan

St. Lawrence University, Canton, New York

With approximately 2,400 undergraduates, St. Lawrence University is a private, four-year liberal arts college Canton, NY. The Facilities Master Plan was developed to support the University’s overall mission and vision, as well as its strategic goals to protect, develop and enrich its learning and living environment. The plan will guide decision-making by the Board of Trustees over the next 20 years.

The project included orientation/goal setting, academic planning, space needs and programming, community environs assessment, facilities assessment, concept development, master plan and design concepts, implementation plan/capital improvements phasing, and a final facilities master plan. The plan links enrollment goals to the planning of facilities and infrastructure. The plan enhances the campus environment by improving the open space, landscaping, and wayfinding, while maintaining the uniqueness of the university.

The Facilities Master Plan takes into account the SLU Climate Action Plan with the identification of primary sites for new campus buildings while promoting 21st-century sustainability concepts.
