Whiteface Club and Resort, Lake Placid, New York
The Whiteface Club, on the shore of picturesque Lake Placid, was developed as a fashionable Adirondack inn and resort in 1882. As the age of the grand Adirondack lodges and hotels began to wane, the resort adapted to changing vacation accommodation needs. Cottages, town homes, condominiums and luxury Adirondack homes replaced the memorable presence of the once luxurious Whiteface Grand Hotel.
Saratoga Associates worked with the Whiteface Club & Resort to update its master plan creating a conceptual vision for a new clubhouse, premier residential units, and support facilities including administration, restaurants and banquet facilities to expand the resort’s special event and conference services. The conceptual design for Club centered on the site’s one-of-a-kind views over Lake Placid with magnificent Whiteface Mountain rising in the distance. On the interior of the site the resort’s classically designed golf course becomes a scenic centerpiece for views from residential units and event facilities.
