Double H Ranch, co-founded by Charles R. Wood and Paul Newman, provides specialized therapeutic and recreational programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illness. Comprised of over 320-acres, the property offers a wide range of seasonal programs and facilities located within the Adirondack Mountains.
Saratoga Associates prepared a comprehensive Facilities Master Plan which included a review of facilities, infrastructure, and operations, and a strategic analysis of programming needs and opportunities of the Ranch. The result of this multi-disciplinary assessment was an Implementation Action Plan that addressed Ranch needs ranging from essential camper needs to long-term visionary programming and identification of the infrastructure, structures, and open space necessary to address these items.
Saratoga Associates established a clear vision with a primary goal of creating a centralized heart of the Ranch through the implementation of the Multi-Function Building. Additionally, promoting inter-connected indoor and outdoor spaces provided flexible and notable settings where children could gather throughout the year and where the memories of the next generation of campers would be centered.
