College of St. Rose Campus Master Plan

College of St. Rose Campus Master Plan

The College of Saint Rose, Albany, New York

The College of Saint Rose is a small liberal arts college with an undergraduate and graduate enrollment of approximately 4,900 students located in a dense neighborhood in Albany.

The campus aims to create a vibrant, intimate setting despite its bustling urban location. Faced with the challenges of an increasing student population, aging facilities, and the density of the surrounding neighborhoods, the College retained Saratoga Associates to develop a campus Master Plan that would expand accommodations, improve facilities, address a relationship with the surrounding context, and establish compelling arrival spaces.

The resulting plan identified sites for new academic and residential buildings, recommended relocation and expansion of several academic and support programs, expanded parking, and developed a plan for property acquisition.

Originating with Master Plan recommendations, Saratoga Associates has designed a number of key campus buildings and public spaces including; the Massry Center for the Performing Arts, St. Joseph Hall renovation and addition, Albertus Hall renovation, and several campus walkways and plazas.
