As designers and planners, we see what happens when projects are carried out with intense client consultation, imagination, intelligence, technical mastery, and a strong environmental conscience: people’s lives are richer and more productive and their communities are both stronger and greener. Facility design and planning brings together each of these core disciplines to create places and structures at a variety of scales—from large, multi-functional facilities such as arts centers and classroom buildings to small, intimate spaces. Close client interaction during the programming and design phases, research into materials, lifestyles and technologies coupled with an understanding of how people use these spaces informs our design process. Creative, user focused designs make sensitive use of materials, building form and structure, landform, natural resources, vegetation, and infrastructure, resulting in more livable and sustainable projects.
