Broadwater Energy Liquified Natural Gas Terminal
Long Island Sound, New York

Broadwater Energy, LLC proposed the construction and operation of a marine liquefied natural gas terminal near the center of Long Island Sound. As part of a comprehensive environmental assessment submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Saratoga Associates identified potential visual and aesthetic impacts and provided an objective assessment of the visual character of the project. Key components included an inventory of sensitive receptors along the coasts, photo simulations of daytime and night lighting conditions, and consideration of the effects of earth curvature, marine weather conditions, mirage and other factors associated with project visibility.
